Before gold became matter,
it was born from the stars

Its story began long before the Earth existed, in the depths of the universe, where unimaginable forces shape matter itself. Gold is forged in the most extraordinary cosmic events: when neutron stars, the remnants of ancient suns, collide with immense force. In that fleeting moment, under conditions beyond human comprehension, gold is created. Then, scattered into the vastness of space, its atoms begin an extraordinary journey, travelling across the universe for millions, even billions of years, until they become part of newly forming worlds. Every fragment of gold carries the memory of a celestial collision that took place before our world existed. It was not born on Earth. It came from the depths of the universe – older than our planet, older than human history, carrying within it a story written in the stars. Today, that ancient matter takes on a new form. What once travelled through the infinite darkness of space now rests against the human body. What was born in the collision of distant stars becomes something we can touch, wear and pass on. The Fifth Element

Aether is the mythical fifth element, known to ancient philosophers as the quintessence: the purest substance of the universe, believed to fill the celestial realm beyond the boundaries of Earth. While the earthly world was shaped by transient and ever-changing elements – earth, water, air and fire – aether was eternal, embodying absolute perfection, harmony and the unchanging order of the stars.Infused with the luminous breath of the gods, it became a symbol of absolute, cosmic lightness and boundless, infinite space, an immaterial fabric that, without weight or substance, binds all creation together while remaining beyond the reach of the senses. Neither matter nor emptiness, aether existed in the space between worlds, where form dissolves and the infinite begins. It was imagined as the invisible medium through which the celestial realm moved, carrying the purity and harmony of the cosmos. Aether is the idea of weightlessness made myth: a substance without substance, a presence without mass, an invisible architecture holding the universe in perfect balance.

Mumbuca Quilombo:
The Golden Heritage

A quilombo is a community founded by descendants of Africans who resisted slavery in Brazil – places that became enduring symbols of freedom, self-determination and cultural resilience. Among them is the Mumbuca community, rooted in the remote savannas of Jalapão, where generations of women have preserved the ancestral art of weaving Capim Dourado, the region’s naturally golden grass. Capim Dourado is extraordinary not only for its luminous, almost metallic colour, but also for its deep connection to the land. This golden grass grows naturally onlyin the Jalapão region, making it inseparable from the landscape and heritage of the communities who have lived therefor generations. What began as a traditional craft became a powerful source of independence. Passed from motherto daughter, the knowledge of harvesting and weaving this extraordinary plant has enabled the women of Mumbucato build their own livelihoods while preserving the identityand heritage of their community. They have transformed the natural resources of their land into a source of financial autonomy, social strength and collective empowerment.Each delicate strand carries not only the glow of nature, but generations of knowledge, skill and quiet determination. Through their hands, a wild grass becomes something precious – not by imitating gold, but by revealing the gold that was already there. Mumbuca neckless is a tribute to these women and to the freedom they continue to weave, one strand at a time.
