Introduction A VISION IN GOLD
Conceived by second-generation jeweler Ana Carolina de Moraes Reut, Canari was born from the belief that Mother Nature is the true artist and we are her humble students. Drawing inspiration from bioengineered structures, architectural precision, Brazilian biodiversity and cultural heritage, each piece in the Airiness Collection transforms 18-karat gold into sculptural expressions of lightness, strength and emotion.
What began as Ana Carolina’s vision soon became a shared family journey. Her passion for jewellery, nature and the possibilities of contemporary design inspired those closest to her to embrace the idea and become part of its evolution. Her Polish husband, Tomasz, joined her in this endeavour, sharing her enthusiasm for jewellery and fascination for his second homeland, becoming an integral part of the brand’s creative direction. Together they transformed an individual vision into a family – driven brand built on creativity, craftsmanship and a deep respect for the natural world.
At the heart of Canari lies a dialogue between nature and human ingenuity – between organic forms and the precision of contemporary design. Each creation explores how seemingly delicate structures can embody remarkable strength, translating the intelligence of nature into timeless jewellery. Airiness is an expression of this philosophy: a collection where gold appears to defy its own weight, becoming fluid, dynamic and almost weightless. It is a celebration of the beauty found in balance – where material, movement and emotion come together to create
jewellery with a distinct sense of identity.
Prologue THE CRAFT
Every Canari creation is shaped through a dialogue between vision, material and the human hand. From the first drawing to the final polish, each piece undergoes a meticulous process where precision and craftsmanship transform an idea into jewellery.
Working with 18-karat gold demands mastery. Every curve, surface and connection is carefully considered, shaped and refined through delicate stages requiring patience, experience and an uncompromising eye for detail. Nothing is accidental. Proportion, balance, movement and light guide every stage of the making. What appears effortless in the finished piece is the result of hours of skilled work – hands that know when to shape, refine and let the material speak for itself. At Canari, traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design. Advanced techniques provide precision, while the human hand brings sensitivity, character and soul. The result is more than a beautifully crafted object: 18-karat gold brought to life through precision, patience and an extraordinary attention to detail.
Chapter I: AETHER - Lightness
In the beginning was chaos, a formless, drifting universe of raw energy. Out of primordial disorder, creation exhales its first, purest element: absolute Lightness. Woven from delicate threads of gold, this dome ring evokes an openwork nest – a fragile architecture suspended between form and emptiness. Its intricate structure seems to emerge from the void, where every golden thread finds its place in a quiet, almost instinctive order.
The ring transforms the weight of gold into something seemingly weightless: a porous, living form that catches the light as it moves. From one angle, it appears dense and intricate; from another, almost transparent – its structure dissolving into light and shadow. It is an architectural whisper upon the finger – intricate yet ethereal, where solid gold becomes a sculpture of air, light and movement. A study in contrast, it embodies the essence of Airiness: the extraordinary possibility of creating strength from delicacy, and presence from almost nothing.
Chapter II: PNEUMA - Presence
From infinite heights, Presence finds its grounding in absolute beauty. Pneuma takes its name from the ancient idea of breath – the invisible force that gives form to movement, life and presence.
Here, air becomes architecture. Shaped as a monumental collar, the necklace embraces the body with a bold, sculptural presence. Its surface is etched with precise, hypnotic patterns inspired by the pneumatic bones of birds – extraordinary natural structures that are hollow within, yet remarkably strong, combining lightness, resilience and efficiency. The intricate pattern transforms the substantial form of the collar into something almost weightless. Light moves across its surface, slipping through the delicate geometry and revealing a constant dialogue between density and void, strength and air, structure and movement. Pneuma is a study in the paradox of weight and lightness — a powerful form born from the architecture of air. A breathtaking statement of presence, it carries both the authority of a sculptural object and the poetry of something made to move. Monumental yet ethereal, powerful yet precise, Pneuma turns the invisible into something you can wear and expresses the idea that a striking presence does not depend on weight, but on the intelligence of design.
Chapter III: NAIÁ - Brazilianness
The journey deepens into the heart of the Amazon, where nature and myth become one. Naiá draws from one of the most famous legends of the Tupi-Guarani peoples.
According to it, a young girl named Naiá fell in love with the Moon (Jaci). Her longing for the beloved was so profound that she leapt into the water to reach its reflection, believing it to be her divine lover. Moved by her devotion, the god Tupã transformed her into the Vitória Régia – the magnificent water lily that blooms upon the waters of the Amazon,forever reaching toward the moon. Inspired by this extraordinary flower, the brooch reveals its hidden architecture – the structure beneath the lush, delicate surface of the leaf. Fine leaves and petals unfold into an intricate network of ribs and openings: a botanical interpretation of the structural logic previously observed in the pneumatic bones of birds. What appears fragile is, in fact, remarkably strong. What seems substantial draws its strength from emptiness.
By revealing the underside of the leaf and its intricate supporting structure, Naiá reveals a universal principle found throughout the living world: lightness is not the opposite of strength – it is what allows strength to exist.
The brooch is crafted from three shades of gold: yellow, rose and white. Their interwoven tones create a subtle play of light, evoking three faces of the Amazonian world: the golden radiance of the sun, the rosy light of dawn, and the cool glow of the moon reflected upon the water. Three expressions of a single precious metal meet within one form, just as light, water and vegetation converge upon the surface of the Amazon.
The brooch becomes a vision of transformation, where myth takes botanical form and longing becomes eternal. The flower born from Naiá’s tragic descent into the water now blooms as a symbol of beauty born from devotion, nature’s intelligence and the extraordinary architecture of lightness.
Naiá is a tribute to transformation – the moment when passion becomes a flower, and the hidden structure of nature is transformed into art.
Chapter IV: MUMBUCA – Freedom
The collection reaches its peak where luxury meets the wild. Mumbuca neckless becomes a celebration of absolute freedom and resilience. Born from a unique collaboration with the women of the Mumbuca quilombo in Jalapão, Brazil, the jewel brings together the enduring radiance gold and the warm, natural glow of Capim Dourado – the golden grass native to the region.
Delicate golden spirals unfold along a hand-woven collar of Capim Dourado, creating an extraordinary dialogue between precision and nature. Each spiral seems to emerge organically from the grass, its intricate form catching the light with every movement. The contrast is striking: the permanence of precious metal suspended upon a living material, shaped by hand and rooted in the landscape from which it comes. Harvested sustainably and woven entirely by hand, each strand of Capim Dourado carries generations of ancestral knowledge.
In the hands of Mumbuca’s women, this humble plant becomes something extraordinary: an expression of artistry, identity and independence. Mumbuca is more than an encounter between precious metal and natural fibre. It is a meeting of worlds — contemporary design and ancestral wisdom, luxury and the wild, permanence and transience. A tribute to the spirit of the Jalapão savannas and to the women who have transformed their heritage into a living expression of freedom.
